1 lb. ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 jalapeno, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 can red kidney beans
4 hamburger buns

Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain off excess fat. Stir in the onions, bell peppers, jalapeno and minced garlic. Saute until tender. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, cumin, cayenne pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Saute about 3 minutes longer, stirring. Add the can of kidney beans. Stir and heat thoroughly. If the sloppy joe mix is too thick, you can stir in a small amount of water.

Serve over warmed buns.

A thick and meaty sandwich to warm up cool evenings.
